Hello, Soon-To-Be Writer.
Can you think of something you’ve been dying to say, a story you desperately want to tell, or an issue you want to speak up about, but haven’t for fear of what people might think?
It’s time to share it with the world.
It’s time to write it all down, attach your name to it, hit the big green publish button and put it out there for the world to read.
Does that make you nervous and excited all at the same time?
Good. That means you’re in the right place.
So, tell me if this sounds familiar...
You don’t share your opinions and stories with the world because you’re not quite sure if they’re valid or, quite frankly, important enough to share
The idea of putting yourself out there and speaking your truth scares you but at the same time is something that you desperately wish you were doing
You WANT to say what’s in your heart but don’t feel confident in your ability to say it in a way that will connect with other people
The thought of people reading your opinions and stories gets you excited but is quickly replaced by self-doubt and an almost paralyzing fear (“Who am I to speak about this!?”)
You fear that no one actually cares what you have to say
You’ve held back from speaking up in the past because you were afraid of how people in your life would respond, and it left you feeling guilty and disingenuous
You look at other writers and wonder, "what's their secret?", and question what they have that you don’t have
I want you to imagine something else.
Imagine, instead, having the confidence to share your opinions publicly, and to stand firm behind them, because you know in your heart that your opinions matter. That your thoughts are valid.
Imagine getting a flurry of replies from people saying “I thought I was the only one who felt this way” and “thank you for saying what I’ve been wanting to say for years”.
Imagine having the courage to publish a piece of work and knowing that when you do, dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of people will be reading what you wrote.
Imagine coming up with an idea for something to write and immediately writing it, publishing it, and not antagonizing over every single word.
Imagine having a body of work published on Medium, and having it read, re-read, and shared for months and years to come.
Imagine your words being the catalyst for change - changing someone's mind on an important topic, changing the way someone views themselves,
The thing is that this IS possible for you, and you just need some tools, guidance, support, practice, and a not-so-gentle push to get you there.
Introducing:
Hello, Writer.
An 8-week course for writers who aren’t yet writing, leaders who aren’t yet leading, and speakers who aren’t yet speaking.
By the end of Hello, Writer, you’ll be a self-expressed, published writer who knows how to write words that connect with people. You’ll have the tools, support, and confidence that you need to get past your roadblocks and put down your self-doubt so you can say what’s in your heart and on your mind…
Because, really, is there anything else that even matters in this life?
Hi!
I’m Julia Rose, Founder & CEO of Julia Rose Content, and creator of Hello, Writer.
The fact that you’re here, reading these words is a testament to what can happen when you start sharing your stories with the world.
I count my own writing and self-expression as the single most important thing that I have done in my life, and the only reason why, today, I can show up confidently, speak about who I am, and run my own business.
See, I always believed there was something unattainably special about the powerful people, especially women who were speaking up for what they believed in.
And I thought there was a tangible difference between myself and the women who were hosting masterclasses, putting on courses, and speaking on stages.
I was so envious of the things they were achieving, and it took me a long time to realize they all just had the courage to use their voice.
I spent so many years writing for other people and attaching their names to it, yet being nervous and waiting for permission to publish my own words under my own name...
Until February of 2018 when I finally published my first story on Medium and admitted to myself, and to the world, that I am a writer and an artist.
Since then, I’ve published 57 vulnerable stories about life, love, and writing. My top story has been viewed 17K times, read 6.1K times, and has over 400 fans.
I have been published in P.S I Love You, Scribe, Hello, Love, The Post-Grad Survival Guide, The Startup, Invisible Illness, and The Innovation.
And, above all, I’ve learned to trust my voice and the process of expression.
I’m here to help you do the same.
Because everything in my life changed when I started to speak up and publish my work regularly.
Because the world is missing out on everything that is inside of you and you only, and we need to hear it.
And because you’re missing out on more than you can imagine by not speaking up and saying what you want to say.
“Before Hello Writer, I didn't take my writing seriously. I did not think I had what it takes to be published. I wrote in the dark, in my room, and for my eyes only. After Hello Writer, I am a published author of six articles on Medium! I am proud of my writing. I'll never forget how awesome it felt to be contacted by a popular publication. Julia's program is challenging, but very rewarding. You'll meet fellow writers, learn how to make money on Medium (Yes. Cold hard Sir Robert Bordens!) and you'll have fun too. Don't think about it! Sign up!” - Saba Zubair
“Before walking away from your voice, contact Julia. She knew there was a writer in me that struggled to see the path to my horizon because of the fear of uncertainty with my voice. Working with Julia allowed me to take the first step to a breakthrough, which was to face the fear, but only to realize that the fear of uncertainty became the catalyst for immense desirable change. Then, there's nothing to face but something to embrace. What I’ve gained is far more than what I expected, and I am so grateful for the confidence I’ve acquired to write and to call myself a good writer!” - Vanessa Ozigbo
“I signed up for Julia’s first “Hello Writer” course based on pure instinct. Everything in the description - from the focus on personal expression, to tips on how to fully engage an online audience - resonated with me immediately. It was the writing course I didn’t know I was looking for. More importantly, as someone for whom writing has always come easily, and has been a big part of her academic / professional success, “Hello Writer” was the course I didn’t know I *needed* to take. And that’s what made it so special.
Along with learning about the importance of a “hard return”, I learned some important things about myself and my writing: things that were, in fact, actually *holding me back* from my goals. That kind of knowledge is invaluable. Not least because I am continuing to apply it months after the course ended. So whether you’re starting out on your writer’s journey, are deep into it, or are returning after a long absence, “Hello Writer” is a necessary stop along the way.” - Dominique Riviere
“You will not regret being a part of Hello, Writer. You get to connect and learn with other writers, challenge yourself and grow. Because it's a small group, it allows for more time to contribute, ask questions and share. Each week has a new lesson which gives invaluable information on writing, the reader and everything that comes with publishing online. And Julia is brilliant. She is funny, incredibly knowledgeable and great at leading a group and keeping things interesting. Julia is supportive and adaptable - she changed a lesson last minute because the group needed something different.” - Angelica Scholts
Testimonials like these are why I created Hello, Writer.
Every single one of those women is smart AF, educated, and talented in so many ways but were keeping their words from the world. They were scared of speaking up and believed they needed permission and validation before writing about a topic and publishing it.
So I gave them permission. And validation.
And individualized feedback, copy critiques, and a support group to top it all off.
And you’re going to get exactly that (and more) when you sign up for Hello, Writer.
An inside look at
Hello, Writer.
This 8-week program starting October 13, 2021 has three live touch-points per week:
→ 1x live 90-minute Write Together session each Monday (attendance optional)
This is a group co-working session. In this session you’ll join your fellow writers on zoom to close your tabs, focus on your expression, and WRITE. Music and group support included. This session is entirely yours to choose, Wednesday and Friday classes are mandatory, but Write Together is there if you need it. No sweat if you can’t make it, bonus for you if you can.
→ 1x live 90-minute interactive lesson each Wednesday
The format of this live lesson changes week-to-week depending on the topic we’re covering, but we will always go through the week's worksheets together. After that, it’s fair game! We might put our brains together for some live editing, share and reflect on how we felt about publishing our latest story, or do live writing prompts. You might even find yourself on the receiving end of some hot seat coaching.
→ 1x live 60-minute Fired Up Friday🔥 call each week held on Friday or Saturday
Fired Up Fridays are the best thing ever (no, like, REALLY, they are the best thing I’ve ever created and you will LOVE it - I guarantee it). You will show up feeling unsure and leave feeling FIRED UP and ready to tackle your writing that weekend. 🔥🔥
Fired Up Friday is an intense brainstorming session for your writing. Each week, you get 10 minutes in the dedicated “hot seat” to discuss what you are writing about that week. You will receive real-time feedback on your thoughts, validation for your ideas, and help from the community on the direction you’re going in.
Vanessa says: “Fired up Fridays are the bomb - I love getting feedback and different perspectives”🔥
In Hello, Writer you’ll also receive:
A full round of edits and feedback on your first piece, so you can feel confident in what you’re putting out to the world. This is your one ‘hand-hold’ moment, because after this, you’re publishing without my eyes on your piece.
12 x worksheets written as Medium posts aka “blog posts” that deliver the content AND show you a framework for your own posts
Access to the Hello, Writer Slack community
A program-long accountability buddy
You’ll be publishing one piece per week in advance of our Wednesday lesson and hold you accountable to hitting that publish button!
Hello, Writer Elevated.
For those wanting a more personalized experience with editing and feedback so you can always get unstuck when you need to, the Elevated option is for you.
Elevated has everything included in Hello, Writer PLUS:
Weekly 1:1 45-minute writing feedback session with Julia

By the end of Hello, Writer, you’ll have:
confidence to share what you need to say
a keen eye for what good writing looks like
the ability to translate your thoughts into a cohesive story
A minimum of 7 published posts that have been vetted by myself and our community (yes, we are doing the damn thing!!)
You’ll also have a rock-solid writing and publishing habit that will allow you to build up an amazing body of published work over the coming months and years.
Hello, Writer is a hands on, intimate group course limited to 20 participants.
Once all of the spots are filled, you won’t have another chance to join Hello, Writer until 2022.
But before we go any further and I officially extend an invitation for you to submit an application, I want to let you know that Hello, Writer isn’t for you if…
❌ You expect that you’ll be a perfect writer after 8 weeks and will never have to practice again
❌ You don’t enjoy group learning or participating in a group setting
❌ You don’t take direction and constructive criticism well
❌ You’re not prepared to carve out time in your week and dedicate it to writing
❌ You’re not committed to publishing your work on Medium and want to keep your writing in your drafts folder (or only read by your partner or parents)
❌ You just want to find out how to have your blog rank for SEO and could care less about self-expression or making meaningful impact through your words
Here’s something important that I need you to know:
Writing is a difficult skill. Writing “well”? Even moreso.
And to top it all off, when you’re writing about the things that are important to you, the things that you pull out from deep within your heart, hitting the publish button requires guts.
Major guts.
Hello, Writer isn’t about publishing surface-level “thought pieces” to gain followers on social media and to feel nice about sticking to your publishing schedule.
It’s about saying the things that need to be said, that can only be said by you.
It’s about sharing the perspective and lived experience that only exists inside of YOU.
It’s about saying a big fuck you to the patriarchy that wants you to keep your opinions to yourself. (As a feminist, your words are a threat to the entire system, so let’s keep it up.
If writing and speaking your truth were easy, everyone would be doing it.
Both writing and speaking your truth are hard and require work. They require an investment of your time.
And when you’re just getting started - you will require accountability. You will require reassurance that your voice and your stories matter and that the world needs to hear them.
THAT’S what you’re going to get in Hello, Writer.
So… Are You Ready?
Are you ready to share your stories with the world?
Are you ready to speak your truth?
Are you ready to have your ideas validated?
Are you ready to have a support system cheering you on as you press publish?
Are you ready to open yourself up to all of the possibilities that come along with publishing your work to Medium?
Are you ready to call yourself a Writer?

“Hello, Writer’s focus on sharing your voice was a huge game-changer for me. This means all techniques, tips and tricks are taught with this goal in mind - not to conform to a particular writing style, topic, or goal for your writing that didn’t fit you. After 8 weeks of classes, discussions, encouragement, and, of course, writing my writing has improved drastically. I now have the tools to get my thoughts and ideas out clearly, directly and honestly.”
- Courtney den Elzen
“Thanks to this course, the idea for my book has been unleashed. I'm really grateful to have joined the course. The community was beyond supportive, and I really, thoroughly enjoyed myself. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
- Rachel Kelly
Still have some questions? Here’s what others have asked...
—>Do you edit my writing during this course?
I do! But only one time. During the first week, I’ll review your first draft and give you written feedback, then you press publish yourself on Medium. After week 1, you are the master of whether something is “good” or “done” because that’s how you’ll develop the confidence in your writing over time.
In Week 6, you share your draft with your writing buddy for review and feedback.
—>How will Hello, Writer make a difference in my life if I don’t write for a living?
Chances are that you want to be respected and seen as an expert in your field of work, but up until now, you’ve avoided writing about important topics in your industry because you haven’t been confident in your ability to communicate your thoughts “properly”.
But here’s the thing…
To be seen as an industry leader, you need to step up and talk about the important things that are happening in your industry.
To apply for promotions, you need to be brave enough to ask for one and know how to properly communicate your value.
To get invited to speak on stages, people need to see you as THE expert and they will check out your body of work long before approaching you to give a talk.
Hello, Writer will make all of the difference in your life if you trust the process and do the work.
→ Do I have to publish on Medium and share the posts with my social network?
YES! You do, and you will want to. Trust me. You don’t have to share the posts with your social network, though something incredible happens when you do start publishing to Medium;
You’re going to find a community of writers that cares about what you care about, and you will find an overwhelming amount of support and validation through that community. This alone will give you the confidence to share your writing with your personal network.
As I like to say… Medium is a gateway drug to LinkedIn publishing. It’s a gateway drug to your success.
→ Can’t I just start writing and publishing to Medium on my own?
Of course you can! But let’s be real, if you were going to do that, you’d be doing it by now.
Hello, Writer will provide you with the technical skills you need to develop good writing, and it will hold you accountable to hitting that publish button over and over again, week after week.
After 6 weeks of Hello, Writer, you’ll also have developed a solid writing habit, and have a much greater chance of continuing with your writing and publishing practice than you will if you go at this alone.
→ If my ultimate goal is to produce content-type blogs for my website, is this course for me?
If this is something you’re wondering, then I have a question for you - are you looking to be better understood and to learn how to communicate with your audience more effectively?
If your answer to that is yes, then yes, this is the perfect course for you.
Overall, this is not a course for bloggers that are just looking to churn out mass content and rank for SEO.
If you feel like you missed your chance to speak up this year,
then you need to step up and make 2022 a different story, because what you have to say can’t wait.
No one else can say what’s on your heart.
No one else can tell your stories.
The world needs to hear from you.
And I don’t think you would have made it this far down the page if you didn’t believe you were ready to step into your voice and finally start calling yourself a Writer.
So, if you’re ready, click the button below to submit your application for this round of Hello, Writer:
“Before Hello, Writer I had a lot of fear about writing and sharing my personal stories publicly. I had a burning desire to write for years, but felt self-conscious and didn't know where to start. Since Hello, Writer, I've gained more confidence in my writing, I've learned that writing can be a therapeutic tool and have started exploring poetry to read and write.”
